That's right, TFHA is holding its first Annual Trapping Contest
This contest is a fundraiser for TFHA and to help cover the costs of expenses for the Volunteers that are helping at the SE NTA in April 2010.
Anyone can sign up, although for "out of staters" the license fee for trapping is $401.00. Any age trapper will be accepted.
Date is Feb 12th - 14th 2010
The contest will be held at A.E.D.C Wildlife Management Area in Coffee Co.
There is 25,000 acres of ground for us to trap. All species are present.
This is a fund raiser for hotels for the TFHA workers going to the 2010 NTA south eastern.
Date Feb. 12th thru Feb. 14th 2010
Lodging will be free thanks to Jerry Bowman (you will need to bring a cot and sleeping items) space may be limited if a large number of entries are made. If you wish to stay at a local motel, you will be responsible for making arrangements and the cost.
On the day of arrival, you will be required to fill out a form, with name, address, age and date of birth, and also present your Trapping License.
Entry fee:
$30 members TFHA
$40 for non-members ($10 will go to a membership)
illegal traps and sets will automatically disqualify you and no refund.
Report to lodge by 8 am Friday
Every trapper draws a #
Odd #'s will draw the name of a partner
The teams will draw a section of property to trap
18 traps or snares per trapper will be aloud
Arrive back at lodge after setting
Saturday 7am 2 teams pair up and draw straws to see what team check traps first.
Each team will judge each other( # of traps, animals caught)
Teams return to lodge to talley fur, skin and flesh
Sunday is the same as Saturday.
Sets can be changed on saturday (location or species)
All fur trapped will be donated to the TFHA.

Prizes:
$200.00 first place including 1 full day on the line with James Lord
$125.00 second place
$75.00 Third place
Plaques will be given out at the spring meet in Big Ridge.

Kyle Kattz donated 2 of his videos
Tim Caven donated 4 MB-650 rubber jaws
JLord donated 2 days on his trap line
Entry deadline:
The deadline for contest entry is January 15th. An email with your name and phone number sent to Paul Antzack must be sent in by that date.
