Here are the results of an auction held in Missouri, hopefully prices are looking up:
The first MTA fur auction was today (Jan 23rd) at the Boone County Fairgrounds. It was a dandy compared to the fur prices forecast when season started. The light catch was evident with only around 33 lots of fur sold. Around 16 buyers were present from 3 states. Here's the results.

Prices at the latest TN sale in Waverly were not very good. I was not in attendance and I do not know of any one that was there, so I am not able to give you a reason as to why.
Hopefully prices continue to get better than pre-season predictions.

To those that are planning on bringing items to sale, try to do a little homework to see what your fur is worth, by reading reports in magazines, talking to fur buyers and so forth. It is up to you to know what your fur is worth. On that note though, just because you see or hear a report of certain prices paid for certain pelts does not mean that "your" fur is worth the same price. there could be several reasons why it isn't worth the same price, for instance; "green vs finished", "early caught vs prime". If you have questions concerning fur quality or ways to put up your fur to get better prices for it, please speak up and ask a fur buyer or two, they will help you if they can.
If you are not happy with the prices offered to you for your fur, you have every right to "no sale" your fur at our fur auctions.
Thanks goes out to Laura Smith the President of the Lady Fur Harvesters and to Amanda Smith for feeding us all at the fur sales. Thanks to you ladies, we couldn't do it with out you.
Also like to thank everyone behind the scenes that helps with the fur sales. The clean up, the work involved during the sale, things like this couldn't get done with out the volunteers help. thanks again.
