Tennessee Fur Harvesters Association

Welcome to the Tennessee Fur Harvesters Association

We are dedicated to preserving our heritage and our rights as outdoorsmen, with a special emphasis on trapper training, proper trapping methods and the management of Tennessee's furbearers.

News:

The Trapper Training Camp at Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge was another success.  I talked to John and Paul and both said it was well attended with almost 70 people there.  Great to see so many new people getting interested in our sport.  Thanks to John and everyone involved in the Trapper Training Camp.  I would also like to that the TWRA for helping with promoting trapping in general and also listing our Training Classes on the official TWRA website.  Thanks again everyone for a job well done.

The SE NTA was a success, we had a lot of vendors and some tailgaters.  Thanks to everyone, TFHA members included, that helped make the convention a great one.  I would also like to thank the GTA (Georgia Trappers Association), for the great times.

TFHA

invites you to attend any of our scheduled events held through out the year.  These events range from district meets, to rondezvous, to fur sales.  These events are a great oppurtunity for new trappers to learn more about our great sport of trapping, not to mention the many friends one will make while in the company of fellow sportsman.

Important Information...

Members we are still getting mailings back that we are sending out. So if you have moved please give me your new address. With what Lora Daniel sent out I have received about 10 back, I have called and got a few of you to call back with your new address, so if I called you please call me back. If we don't have your right address this can keep you from getting your T.P.C.

Thanks,

Nancy Rogers

TFHA Photo and Scrapbook:

Although our Fall Convention is a few months away, I would like to mention a few things pertaining to it.  John and I was talking, and he brought up an idea to put together a scrap book so to speak of TFHA's events and members.  So what I am asking of you, our membership, is if you have any pictures from past years events, such as Conventions and Fur Sales, or any other "get togethers" that you would be able to let us use to put in this scrap book it would be very helpful.  We are also, looking for any articles that may have been written by or about members of TFHA to use as well.  We are wanting this to be a book to pass on to future members to go through so they can see what TFHA was, how it started, and what it is today.  So any stories that some of you may want to jot down, or maybe even sit and talk to someone that can take notes at Fall Creek Falls this year, would be helpful.  If you can bring something with you to Fall Creek Falls that would be great, or you can go ahead and send it to our Secretary, Lora Daniel.  Hopefully we can get this together in time for our Spring Meet, to be available to view by everyone.  If you have anything to add to this please let us know, as this is "your" scrapbook.  It can be anything from a picture, article or even fur sales receipts or fur auction results.  I will mention this again in upcoming news, but wanted to get the idea out there to draw a little interest early or in time for things to start coming together by Fall Creek Falls.

If anyone has any questions or comments don't hesitate to call me at 731 614-2531 or email at jlord2003@aol.com.
